I am a professional visual artist from Newfoundland, Canada. My original paintings and art prints are infused with colour, design, humour, sentiment and a slightly ‘twisted’ perspective, reflective of my personality. My subject matter often features my love of the rich history and culture of our East Coast lifestyle.
A Bachelor of of Fine Arts from Memorial University of Newfoundland, interior design background and years of art experience allow me to create colourful whimsy intertwined with realism and expression.
In 2006, I made the leap to full-time artist and jumped in with both feet by setting up a public studio in the front window of a popular French restaurant in beautiful Collingwood, Ontario, where I was given the title of “the social artist”. After this successful stint, I moved into a shared open artists studio until moving back to Newfoundland with my hubby and muse, Brent Beshara (AKA Besh), in 2009.
Today, I paint locally inspired images in acrylics and inks from my home studio in Holyrood. To view my original paintings, studio visits can be arranged by special request.
I am very online-social now; posting and chatting about the stages of my artistic process. For special events, I paint in public in my On-Site Art Studio.
Browse my online Art Gallery and Shop for original & commissioned work in private and corporate collections as well as to purchase my originals and art prints.
All that being said, as much as art is a huge part of my life, I have other ingredients that make life delicious and fun for me such as food, health, relationships, DIY, decor, photography and eco ideas…and there’s always something new being added to the menu. Therefore I created this Piece of Pye lifestyle blog so I can talk about all the things I love – each “a slice of life”. Let me know what you think!
